Socceroos progress in the Asian Cup

Tom Rogic’s late goal ensures Austrlalia progresses to the Asian Cup round 16. Rogic was the hero as the Soceroos fought off a determined Syria securing them a 3-2 win.

After a nervous first half, Socceroos forward Awer Mabil curled a goal in from the edge of the box!

Syria desperately needed a win to stay in the tournament and pushed hard but Rogic sent Australia through with a win in the third minute of injury time.

Victory means Australia will face either Uzbekistan or Japan in a second-round clash in Al Ain next Monday.
