Surfing – Before you get in the water

Before you head into the surf it is essential to warm up! This ensures your body is prepared and your heart rate is ready. Warming up will also help to lower your risk of injury, a good warm up should last between 5-10 minutes that involves your whole body.

 

  • Start by stretching your whole body, stretch out your neck, do arm and leg swings and cross body leg stretches

  • Then lightly jog along the beach- about 2-3 minutes to get your heart rate up

  • Shake it out- shake out your limbs and get ready to catch a wave.
