Butterfly stroke technique tips

Want to become faster and more efficient with your Butterfly stroke? Follow these tips below

  • Roll your body, start by pressing your chin and chest downward, as you do this your hips should pop up. Feel a nice flow through your body keeping it as smooth as possible.

  • Keep your head in a neutral position when in front arm extension.

  • Try to keep you body as close as possible to the surface of the water.

  • Your hands should sweep down and out in a y shape with the path led by your thumbs.

  • Powerful down kick of the feet will propel your body forwards,

  • Keep your legs close together and your ankles relaxed.

  • Keep your chin in front of your forehead and inhale quickly through your mouth.

  • A common breathing cycle is once every two arm cycles.
