A handball is performed by punching the ball in the desired direction. Here are a few crucial tips to effectively handball in AFL.
Hands should be under the ball
Contact arm should be bent almost to a 90-degree angle
Punching hand should finish in holding hand
Swing arms to create momentum
The ball must swing backwards!
Step forward with the opposite foot upon contact with the ball
The end of the ball should be slightly pointing up
